MOM, SSG, and Jobstreet by SEEK have partnered to launch SEEK Pass, which will give employers access to pre-verified information about job seekers.
The Career Health SG initiative, which was established in 2023 with a view to not only empower local workers to achieve their career aspirations, but enable employers to access a wider pool of talent, has gotten a boost with the launch of SEEK Pass on 11 February 2025.
This initiative sees Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower (MOM), SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), and Jobstreet by SEEK coming together to introduce this new secure platform for verifying, storing, and sharing work credentials for job seekers.
Employers can, thus, look forward to accessing pre-verified information about candidates, which can be likened to a "blue tick" verification sign that is available on some social media sites.
The announcement on the new digital credential verification was made at an event attended by HRO, where Vic Sithasanan, Managing Director, Jobstreet by SEEK in Singapore, shared: "Our collaboration with MOM, SSG and Accredify ensures SEEK Pass is tailored to Singapore’s unique needs and complements innovations like Career Hub, our learning and community platform for career growth and upskilling."
How the system works is that the SEEK Pass will allow candidates to draw on their Careers & Skills Passport (CSP), which was jointly rolled out by MOM and SSG in November 2024. The CSP contains skills, employment history, education and certifications records from Government sources.
As MOM and SSG gather user interactions and feedback, the CSP will be enhanced with more features and more comprehensive data over time. For a start, the integration between SEEK Pass and CSP will cover employment history.
More details on CSP will be released by SSG at a later date.
On the development, Kenny Tan, Deputy Secretary (Workforce), Ministry of Manpower, noted the Ministry recognises the value of partnerships with labour market players to advance the Career Health SG initiative.
He added: "While the government has a role to play in strengthening the data infrastructure and creating the enabling conditions, we rely on partners like Jobstreet to build upon these to develop new tools and services or enhance existing ones to better meet the needs of workers and employers."
Tan Kok Yam, Chief Executive of SkillsFuture Singapore, is positive on the announcement to help Singaporeans actively plan their careers based on an assessment of their own skills. He commented: "We look forward to leveraging the expertise and reach of private partners like Jobstreet to expand the SkillsFuture movement, and promote skills-first hiring practices."
First launched by Jobstreet’s parent company, SEEK, in Australia, SEEK Pass has so far seen 80% of employers saying they find the pre-verification process of candidates helpful for faster shortlisting.
The product has been customised for Singapore’s labour market, Jobstreet will be partnering with Accredify, to further extend SEEK Pass' capabilities by enabling the verification of educational qualifications from participating universities.
"SEEK Pass transforms how candidates showcase their qualifications, delivering maximum value to both job seekers and employers," said Xavier Russo, General Manager, SEEK Pass, in a media statement.
