Eligible travellers from 34 countries & regions can now access the Australian Immi App for visa applications

From 24 November 2025, visa applicants in 19 additional countries can now submit their facial biometrics and passport details through the Australian Immi App, as Australia’s pushes towards a faster and more convenient visa process.

Visa applicants from around the world can now apply for an Australian visa more easily, as the Australian Immi App becomes available in 34 countries. Effective 24 November 2025, the Department of Home Affairs has introduced the app in a further 19 countries, widening access to a tool designed to make the visa process faster and more convenient.

The Australian Immi App allows eligible applicants to submit their facial biometrics and passport information from their smartphones. This means they no longer need to visit biometric collection centres in person, a requirement that has often added time and travel costs to applications. The Department highlighted that there is no charge to use the app, which further reduces the costs associated with submitting a visa application.

To be eligible, applicants must have previously provided their biometrics, including both a facial image and fingerprints, to the Department and must hold a valid passport.

With the latest rollout, eligible applicants in Algeria, Bahrain, Colombia, Egypt, Fiji, France, Greece, Hong Kong SAR, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand (third-country nationals), Oman, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, Tonga, Türkiye, Tuvalu, the United Arab Emirates and Vanuatu can now use the app.

According to the Department, having the app available in 34 countries supports the Australian Government’s commitment to making the visa process faster, simpler and more convenient. A final expansion to all remaining countries in Australia’s biometric collection programme is planned for early 2026, which will further extend the reach of the digital service.

The Department of Home Affairs expressed its appreciation to applicants for embracing the shift to digital services, adding that looks forward to expanding the Australian Immi App’s reach in 2026, aiming to give easier access to Australia’s visa system for more people in more places.
