Marriott International MY & UOA Academy collaborate to equip underprivileged students for the hospitality industry

This partnership will involve providing comprehensive training programmes designed to equip underprivileged students with essential skills for the industry.

Marriott International (Malaysia) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with UOA Academy, aimed at providing underprivileged students with education and career opportunities. through education and career opportunities.

This partnership will involve providing comprehensive training programmes designed to equip underprivileged students with essential skills for the hospitality industry, aiming to enhance employability as well as contribute to the nation’s workforce development agenda.

All costs towards the programme will be fully funded by both parties.

Sabrina Abdullah, Market Director HR of Marriott International (Malaysia), commented: "By harnessing our expertise in hospitality training and employment, we aim to make a positive impact on the lives of underprivileged youth, paving the way for their future success."

Haikal Akmar, Chief Executive of UOA Academy, also emphasised the importance of education and vocational training in building a sustainable future for Malaysia. "Through this partnership with Marriott International (Malaysia), we are committed to providing underprivileged students with quality education and practical skills that will empower them to thrive in the hospitality sector."

Both organisations noted that the collaboration underscores a shared commitment to corporate social responsibility and nation-building efforts; and creating inclusive opportunities that support Malaysia’s economic growth and social progress.
