PwC launches AI Hub in Singapore

Backed by the Singapore Economic Development Board, the Hub aims to strengthen AI capabilities, support real-world learning, and enable industry-specific transformation.

PwC has launched a new AI Hub in Singapore, committing over US$4mn over the next three years to grow local artificial intelligence capabilities and support responsible adoption of the technology across sectors.

The initiative, announced on 21 May 2025, is supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). It will focus on three priorities: introducing standards for the use of AI, developing and scaling homegrown AI capabilities, and forming strategic alliances to support market expansion.

A key feature of the Hub is an AI factory that seeks to accelerate the development and scaling of impactful AI solutions. The factory has currently delivered solutions for industries including financial services, government and public sector, and transport and logistics.

Since its soft launch in January 2025, the AI Hub has grown from a three-person team to 15 employees today, made up of AI researchers and data scientists. PwC plans to expand the team to 20 within the next 12 to 15 months.

Marcus Lam, Executive Chairman, PwC Singapore, said the Hub reflects PwC’s renewed global purpose to deliver sustained value through technology and innovation.

"Singapore was the clear choice as the location for the AI Hub, given our strong infrastructure, economic stability and pro-business government policies that support innovation and technological development at scale," he shared. "As a popular regional HQ hub, Singapore is the natural fit to advance PwC’s AI ambitions.”

The Hub will also support talent development through collaborations with local institutions such as the National University of Singapore. These efforts will include professional learning programmes and internship opportunities for students to gain hands-on AI engineering experience.

Jermaine Loy, Managing Director, EDB said: "We welcome PwC’s AI Hub in Singapore, which will build AI capabilities to support the needs of corporates, unlock in-house AI applications, and provide real-world learning opportunities for students," he said.
