Singaporean travellers to the UK, who were not yet registered on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' e-Register portal, were also "strongly encouraged to do so".
Singapore's High Commission in London and Embassy to Ireland and Iceland has issued a travel advisory for citizens heading to the United Kingdom (UK), in light of recent unrest following a stabbing incident in the city of Sunderland.
"Singaporeans residing in or travelling to the United Kingdom are urged to stay vigilant and avoid the affected areas where possible," it stated.
Singaporean travellers to the UK, who were not yet registered on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' e-Register portal, were also "strongly encouraged to do so".
Apart from Singapore, other countries in the region have also issued travel advisories for their citizens amidst the unrest. In particular, Malaysia's Malaysia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised travellers on 4 August that its High Commission in London was closely monitoring the situation, urging Malaysians to avoid protest areas, remain vigilant, and remain informed about the latest updates and guidance from local authorities.
Australia had also issued a similar advisory, as did Indonesia's Embassy in London.
