Up the ranks: Georgina Farrell takes on the role of CHRO for Asia at Sun Life

Based in Hong Kong, she will be responsible for driving the talent and culture strategy in the region to support the company’s growth.

Sun Life has appointed Georgina Farrell (pictured above) as Chief Human Resources Officer for Asia, effective 1 May 2025.

Based in the company’s regional headquarters in Hong Kong, Farrell will be responsible for driving Sun Life’s talent and culture strategy in the region. Her focus will be on talent development, organisational growth, and employee engagement to support the company’s growth ambitions in Asia.

In her role, she will also serve as a member of the Asia Executive Team and HR Executive Team, reporting to Helena Pagano, EVP, Chief People & Culture Officer, Sun Life, and Manjit Singh, President, Sun Life Asia.

Commenting on her appointment, Manjit Singh, President, Sun Life Asia, said: “We are delighted to welcome Georgina to Sun Life. As we grow and transform our Asia business, attracting and developing top talent and maintaining our strong culture is a key priority.

"Georgina is an outstanding HR leader with extensive experience designing and executing people strategies to deliver transformation and growth objectives internationally. I am confident she will be a significant contribution to the Sun Life Asia business.”

Farrell said: “Sun Life has a strong reputation for innovation and excellence, and I am excited to lead the HR function across Asia.”

Prior to joining Sun Life, Farrell was Chief People Officer for the UK, Ireland and Europe at RSA, where she played a key role in developing an integrated people strategy to support business growth.

Farrell boasts over 20 years of experience in HR leadership roles in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, with a track record of building high-performing teams and aligning people initiatives to business priorities to drive business growth.
