Father's Day special: How to bring parenthood lessons back to the office

Peter Marrs, President, Asia-Pacific, Japan and Greater China, Dell Technologies, affirms that parenthood is a journey of evergreen learning.

Did you have a wonderful Father's Day yesterday (16 June 2024)?

Fathers are often seen as a role model and a hero in one's life. Father's Day is a significant day to recognise and honour the love, care, and contribution dads have given to the family and their children.

The journey of fatherhood also has implications for the road to leadership. On the occasion of Father's Day, Peter Marrs, President, Asia-Pacific, Japan and Greater China, Dell Technologies [pictured below], tells HRO's Aditi Sharma Kalra, about bringing his learnings from fatherhood back to the workplace.

“Parenthood is a journey of evergreen learning. There isn’t a curveball that your kids won’t throw at you, and you will never be 100% prepared to handle it," he says.

"For me, leadership is the same. The journey as a parent or leader will never be linear, and that is why it is always important for us to be willing to learn and reflect.

"Whether developing new skills, increasing our knowledge or challenging ourselves with new experiences, continuous learning is the only way we can remain flexible and adaptable to changing environments."

HRO wishes all fathers a Happy Father's Day!
