Hong Kong employees can look forward to seven long weekends next year.
As we approach the midpoint of 2026, many are busy planning for the second half of the year – but it may also be a good time to look further ahead to 2027.
The HKSAR Government has gazetted the list of general holidays for 2027, with employees set to enjoy seven long weekends. These include New Year’s Day, Lunar New Year, Easter, Ching Ming Festival, National Day, Chung Yeung Festival, and Christmas.
Notably, as the second day of Lunar New Year in 2027 falls on a Sunday, the fourth day of Lunar New Year will be designated as a general holiday in substitution.
