Separately, an MoU between Malaysia's Todak Academy and Indonesia's Kelas Digital will see a partnership focused on fostering innovation and collaboration within the creative and gaming sectors.
On a recent visit to Shanghai, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Zahid Hamidi witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Malaysia's MARA Corporation and Beijing's Honeycomb Aerospace Technologies.
This strategic partnership hopes to further advance the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology industry in Malaysia through the transfer of knowledge and technology.
One key outcome of the collaboration would be the construction of UAV product installation facility at University of Kuala Lumpur's (UniKL) Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology campus in Sepang, where the process of installing and transferring this technology will begin as early as the week starting 16 September.
DPM Zahid has affirmed that the MoU marks an important step to meet the growing demands of regional markets, including in China and Malaysia.
"With UniKL's involvement and full support to the TVET agenda, it opens up great opportunities for students and local workforce to upskill in the industry."
This partnership will involve a large investment of RM100mn to develop UAV installation facilities and manufacturing plants, positioning Malaysia as a potential UAV technology hub for the Asia toPacific region to the Middle East starting next year.
"I am sure that through this effort, we will be able to advance Malaysia's capability in the industry and strengthen the regional economic relations."
In similar news, Malaysia's Todak Academy has also signed an MoU with Indonesian education application Kelas Digital as part of efforts to advance digital education.
As cited in Bernama, the partnership will focus on fostering innovation and collaboration within the creative and gaming sectors.
As report, the MoU signifies both parties' commitment to work together on research & development in digital creative education, tapping into Todak Academy's expertise in animation, game development, and esports, along with Kelas Digital's mobile learning platform.
Quoted by Bernama, Mohamad Taufik Rizal Aminuddin, Chief Executive Officer of Todak Academy commented on the partnership, expressing hope that "it will significantly accelerate our vision to push the boundaries of conventional education and embrace new methodologies that will enrich the learning experience for students and educators, especially in digital education."
Henry Mappesona, Founder of Kelas Digital, added: "Together, we're poised to make a meaningful impact on the field of digital education and beyond for Indonesia."
