Play Sabrina Carpenter's 'Espresso' when you take that first sip of coffee, and you transform from 'barely functioning' to 'ready to crush this deadline'. Playlist compiled by Aditi Sharma Kalra and Sarah Gideon.
Valentine's Day is coming up, and for many it's a celebration of their love & relationships, while for others, it's a commercially-driven franchise with no real significance. Whichever side of the fence you fall on, we respect that. But we do want to keep your workday fresh through a specially-curated, love-themed office playlist!
We've picked out some of the most iconic love songs across decades, and tagged them to some real-life office scenarios that may or may not evoke feelings of affection. Whatever day you're having, we've got your back, so go ahead and enjoy the playlist.
1. Queen – Somebody to Love
That feeling when you’re desperately searching for a mentor, a coffee buddy, or just someone to share the pain of a Monday morning meeting.
2. KISS – I Was Made for Lovin’ You
When you find a project that aligns perfectly with your skills and passion—until you realise it comes with a ridiculous deadline.
3. Bonnie Tyler – Total Eclipse of the Heart

Saying goodbye to a work bestie who’s moving to another company, and swearing you’ll keep in touch (but only ever liking their LinkedIn posts).
9. Nine Inch Nails – Closer
That late-night caffeine-fuelled obsession to perfect a PowerPoint deck, making it borderline inappropriate how much time you've spent on slide transitions.
10. Mariah Carey – Dreamlover
When you're daydreaming about a CEO who actually approves budgets for professional development instead of just 'thinking about it.'
11. Foo Fighters – Everlong
The rush of adrenaline when you’re in the zone, nailing every task — until your boss sends a 'quick call?' message at 5:55pm.
12. Celine Dion – My Heart Will Go On
The email thread that refuses to die, stretching across months, continents, and time zones.
13. Robbie Williams – Angels
The IT team, always watching over you when you accidentally click on a suspicious email attachment.

Trying to get two feuding departments to work together on a project without drama.

That first sip of coffee in the morning when you instantly transform from 'barely functioning' to 'ready to crush this deadline'.
