There will be no change in the price of RON97 in this period.
Individuals in Malaysia have been urged to continue using fuel wisely in efforts preserve the stability of the country's supply, as the global petroleum market uncertainty persists.
In a media release on Wednesday (6 April 2026), the Ministry of Finance (MOF) said petroleum prices remain high, above US$100 per barrel, citing the "absence of a solution to the conflict in West Asia."
"This situation is also geared towards global crude oil and petroleum product supply constraints, which are worsening due to the breakdown of oil production and refining facilities in the region."
In lieu of this, based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula, which takes into account the average price of the previous week, the retail prices of petrol and diesel for 7 May to 13 May 2026 are as follows:
| Fuel | Retail price | Changes |
| RON97 | RM4.90 per litre (6 May: RM4.90 per litre) | No change |
| RON95 | RM4.02 per litre (6 May: RM3.97 per litre) | Up RM0.05 |
| Diesel (Peninsular Malaysia) | RM5.17 per litre (6 May: RM5.12 per litre) | Up RM0.05 |
The government will also maintain the targeted subsidised prices of petroleum products, which MOF said is to "help preserve the survival of the people and the operations of certain sectors in the still volatile global market conditions." The subsidised prices maintained are as follows:
| Fuel | Subsidised price |
| RON95 (BUDI95) | RM1.99 per litre |
| Diesel (Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan | RM2.15 per litre |
| Subsidised Petrol Control System | RM2.05 per litre |
| Subsidised Diesel Control System | RM2.15 per litre |
