SARA RM100 assistance payout to be credited on 9 Feb 2026 for all Malaysians aged 18 and above

PM Anwar Ibrahim said the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) payout will come in time for Ramadan and Chinese New Year preparations, and about 2.2mn people are expected to benefit from the assistance programme.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced that approximately 2.2mn people will benefit from the upcoming RM100 assistance under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme. This will be credited to every Malaysian aged 18 and above on 9 February 2026.

According to a report by Bernama, shared on the Ministry of Finance's website, the aid aims to help Malaysians for Ramadan and the Chinese New Year celebrations.

Speaking at the Prime Minister’s Department monthly assembly on 5 January 2025, PM Anwar noted that the government will expand new registrations under the SARA programme this year to include small traders, such as grocery shop operators, to address the issue of some rural residents not being registered in the existing system.

As further reported by Bernama, hardcore poor recipients will receive SARA assistance on 9 January, with disbursements implemented three times a month in every state constituency.

Meanwhile, the first phase of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) cash contribution — amounting to up to RM500 — will be credited on 20 January.
