Singapore leads again in ranking of world’s most powerful passports for 2025

Holders of the Singapore passport currently have visa-free access to 193 destinations, followed closely by Japan and several key EU countries.

The 2025 edition of the Henley Passport Index has been released, ranking the world’s passports according to the number of destinations their holders can enter without a prior visa.

The index is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), recognised as the largest and most accurate travel information database. The data is enhanced by Henley & Partners’ research team, with further expert insights available in the Global Mobility Report 2025.

Now in its 19th year, the Henley Passport Index covers 199 passports and 227 destinations. It is updated monthly and is considered a standard reference for global citizens and sovereign states when assessing passport strength and mobility access.

Here is a look at the top 15 passports within Asia in the 2025 Henley Passport Index
