Up the ranks: Deepthi Susarla takes on additional role of Chief People Officer, Cluster Mekong at DB Schenker Asia Pacific

In her expanded role, she now oversees HR operations across Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos, while remaining responsible for HR at the Regional Head Office.

Deepthi Susarla (pictured above), has taken on the additional role of Chief People Officer, Cluster Mekong at DB Schenker Asia Pacific effective November 2024, while continuing in her role as People & Organisation Director Regional Head Office.

Speaking to HRO, Susarla shared that as part of her expanded portfolio, she now oversees HR operations across five countries, namely Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos, while remaining responsible for HR at the Regional Head Office, including in business partnering across all business and functional units.

As Chief People Officer, Cluster Mekong, Susarla will be responsible for end-to-end HR, including business partnering, Center of Excellence, and governance, & services for the Cluster. Based in Singapore, she takes on dual reporting lines - on the function-based front, she reports to the Chief People Officer, APAC, while in terms of the geography, she reports to the Chief Executive Officer, Cluster Mekong.

Her top priority in her first year taking on the additional role will be to foster value retention and talent continuity amidst an ongoing merger with DSV, improving people & organisation value and services in the Mekong cluster while also facilitating seamless integration with DSV. T

Sharing her excitement about elevating employer branding, Deepthi noted that DB Schenker’s merger with DSV will position the combined entity as one of the largest freight forwarders globally. With that, she aims to leverage this strength to reduce career uncertainty among employees via improved talent and succession management, expanded internal talent mobility, and career management during the merger.
