Up the ranks: Viola Chan promoted to role of Prudential Hong Kong’s CHRO

In her new role, she will continue to focus on people advisory and consultancy, further enhancing Prudential’s talent strategies and initiatives.

Prudential Hong Kong has announced the appointment of Viola Chan (pictured above) as Chief Human Resources Officer, effective immediately. She succeeds Callister Koh, who has moved into a senior position within the Group.

In her new role, Chan will continue to focus on people advisory and consultancy, further enhancing Prudential’s talent strategies and initiatives.

Since 2022, she has led Prudential Hong Kong’s talent, leadership, and learning & development strategy, playing a key role in advancing the company’s strategic pillars.

She boasts over 20 years of people management experience gained from international insurance companies such as AIA and Sun Life.

"I’m honoured to take on this new role and continue our journey toward building a high-performance culture. Our focus will remain on fostering an inclusive and agile work environment that empowers our people to thrive and achieve their best," commented Chan.

Meanwhile, Prudential Hong Kong has appointed Brian Chan as Chief Financial Officer, and Alok Jha as Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer, also effective immediately.

All three executives report dually to Lawrence Lam, Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Hong Kong, as well as their respective global function head. They will also serve as members of the Hong Kong Executive Committee.

Lam commented: “I am pleased to welcome Brian, Viola, and Alok to their respective new role. Their appointments underscore Prudential’s commitment to cultivating a high-calibre leadership team capable of driving strategic growth and operational excellence."
