27 May declared a public holiday in the Philippines for Eid’l Adha

Following the update on Presidential Proclamation No. 1264, PSA Civil Registry System outlets nationwide will be closed nationwide on 27 May in line with the national holiday.

Philippines' President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has declared 27 May 2026 (Wednesday), a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Adha.

The declaration was made through Presidential Proclamation No. 1264, signed on 21 May 2026 (Thursday). The proclamation noted that Eid’l Adha, also known as Aidiladha, is one of the two greatest feasts of Islam.

As such, Under Republic Act No. 9849, which marks the 10th day of Zulhijjah, and the 12th month of the Islamic calendar, is declared a national holiday in observance of Eid’l Adha, with the date subject to change each year.

According to the proclamation and following the 1447 Hijrah Islamic Lunar Calendar, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos recommended that 27 May 2026 be declared a national holiday.

In line with the proclamation, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has shared that Civil Registry System (CRS) outlets nationwide will be closed on Wednesday.

Members of the public who need to request civil registry documents and certifications may seek the following alternative channels available:

  • PSA-authorised online channels, including
  • Walk-in at any accredited PSA Batch Request System (BREQS) partners, including SM Business Partners.

Regular operations at PSA CRS outlets will resume on 28 May 2026 (Thursday).
