At the recent Employee Experience Awards 2025 in Hong Kong, Tam Jai International (TJI) achieved remarkable success by winning 14 trophies, including the most coveted Grand Winner title.
In an exclusive interview with HRO, Derek Wu, Group Chief People Officer at Tam Jai International (pictured above, right), credited the achievement to the unwavering contributions of employees. Wu also received the gold award in the newly introduced Most Inspiring Leader category.
“These achievements highlight TJI’s deep-rooted commitment to enhancing the employee experience. We also thank our incredible team for living our DNA– ‘Will to Win’ and ‘Passion to Serve’,” Wu shared.
He emphasises that these accolades, which span the entire employee journey, reflect the company’s core values – ‘ACE IT’, namely accountability, creativity, empathy, integrity, and teamwork.
“These values go beyond guiding principles – they are the cornerstones of our employee experience, enabling us to collaborate effectively and create a workplace where every employee feels proud, happy, and motivated,” Wu added.
To ensure every voice is heard, TJI has adopted a multifaceted employee engagement strategy, including open-door policies, surveys, focus groups, suggestion boxes, and various committees to better understand employees’ needs.
“We not only listen to our employees' feedback, we also strive to understand our consumers' needs. This is crucial because our employees, especially those on the frontline, interact with customers every day,” Wu noted.
“By proactively identifying the challenges employees face, our HR team continues to tailor policies that cater to their needs and the evolving work environment.
“When employees feel valued, it strengthens mutual trust and cooperation, enhancing their sense of belonging and morale.”
By aligning its HR strategy with the evolving needs of both employees and the business, TJI continues to bring its HR vision to life: “Spice up our people, business, and community”.
