Full list of Thailand's 2026 public holidays

Songkran falls on a Monday-Wednesday (13-15 April), making way for a five-day long weekend in the month.

The Bank of Thailand (BOT) has published the official list of holidays observed by financial institutions and specialised financial institutions (SFIs), which generally align with nationwide public holidays.

There are a total of six long weekends to note, including for Songkran Festival, National Labour Day, and a replacement day for Visakha Bucha Day.

  • 1 January, Thursday: New Year's Day
  • 2 January, Friday: Additional special holiday

March

  • 3 March, Tuesday: Makha Bucha Day

April

  • 6 April, Monday: Chakri Memorial Day
  • 13 April, Monday: Songkran Festival
  • 14 April, Tuesday: Songkran Festival
  • 15 April, Wednesday: Songkran Festival

May

  • 1 May, Friday: National Labor Day
  • 4 May, Monday: Coronation Day

June

  • 1 June, Monday: Substitution for Visakha Bucha Day (Sunday 31 May 2026)
  • 3 June, Wednesday: H.M. Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana’s Birthday

July

  • 28 July, Tuesday: H.M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua’s Birthday
  • 29 July, Wednesday: Asarnha Bucha Day

August

  • 12 August, Wednesday: H.M. Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother’s Birthday and Mother’s Day

    October

    • 13 October, Tuesday: H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great Memorial Day
    • 23 October, Friday: H.M. King Chulalongkorn the Great Memorial Day

    December

    • 7 December, Monday: Substitution for H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great’s Birthday, National Day and Father’s Day (Saturday, 5 December 2026)
    • 10 December, Thursday: Constitution Day
    • 31 December, Thursday: New Year’s Eve

    Additional notes for financial institutions

    Financial institutions and SFIs in general observe 2 January 2026 as an additional special holiday.

    Islamic Bank of Thailand branches observe Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha if these dates do not fall on another holiday or weekend.
    Branches in Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala, Satun, and Songkhla receive extra holidays for Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, and Chinese New Year, again if these do not coincide with existing holidays or weekends.
