The targeted assistance programme will benefit identified groups including poor households in the eKasih database, laid-off workers, vulnerable groups registered with the Social Welfare Department, and eligible single mothers.
The Selangor State Government has clarified that applications for the KitaSelangor Voucher Programme have yet to open to the public, advising members of the public to wait for the official announcement scheduled for 22 June 2026 before taking any action regarding the initiative.
In a media statement on 16 June, the State Secretary’s Office said the programme will be implemented on a targeted basis for selected recipient groups identified through data and lists provided by relevant agencies.
Among the groups involved are poor households listed in the eKasih database, laid-off workers, vulnerable groups registered with the Social Welfare Department (JKM), and single mothers who meet the specified eligibility requirements.
Eligible recipients will receive SMS notifications in stages starting 23 June 2026. The SMS will allow them to verify their information and submit applications through the KitaSelangor Voucher Portal, together with the required supporting documents.
The voucher programme is part of Phase One of the Selangor Resiliency Strengthening Package (PPDTS), which was announced by Chief Minister Amirudin Shari in April to address economic and geopolitical uncertainties, particularly following conflicts in the Middle East.
He shared that the package was developed following a series of discussions and engagement sessions that began on 1 April with experts in socio-economics, geopolitics, industry and energy. These sessions were aimed at assessing current impacts and identifying suitable intervention measures for the people and the state economy.
At the initial stage, RM140mn was allocated to implement seven major programmes designed to help ease the cost of living, strengthen food supply security and enhance Selangor’s economic resilience.
The Menteri Besar said the decision also took into account Malaysia’s "unique" position in maintaining economic stability through various measures and strategies implemented by the Federal Government, which helped cushion the impact of the global crisis on the people.
“Alhamdulillah, today PPDTS Phase 1 has been officially launched. Hopefully, all initiatives introduced can be utilised to the fullest by the people and become among the important efforts in ensuring the wellbeing, economic stability and resilience of Selangor continue to be preserved, insya-Allah,” he said.

He also shared some of the other key initiatives under the package, which took effect on 15 June, such as:
- Aid for public transport / petrol worth RM30 per month, for which applications and redemption have since opened from 1 June 2026 through the NINE app.
- Increased allocation of as much as RM5mn to offer basic commodities at cheap prices for the well-being of the expenses of Selangorians.
- Free Breakfast Initiative, which will benefit students in 965 schools across the state. The programme, which is managed through 12 local authorities (PBT), aims to alleviating the expenses of parents and ensure that students get good nutrition before starting the learning session.
- Allocation of as much as RM25mn to help over 14,000 agro-food entrepreneurs to cope with rising operating costs and ensure the security of food supply.
