The policy took effect on 1 October, marking a shift from its previous hybrid work model.
The National University of Singapore (NUS) has rolled out a five-day work-from-office policy for all full-time staff members, the university confirmed on Thursday (2 October).
An NUS spokesperson told CNA that staff from "central administration units" resumed working on campus five days a week from 1 September. The arrangement was later extended to all other staff from 1 October.
CNA reported that NUS had previously operated under a four-day work-from-office, one-day work-from-home policy introduced in late 2023.
Per the report, the university cited Ministry of Manpower data showing that nearly 70% of companies in Singapore did not offer scheduled teleworking arrangements in 2023.
To this point, the spokesperson was quoted as saying that NUS also recognises the value of in-person interactions at work.
"NUS still offers flexible work arrangements, which can be designed for specific job roles," they were quoted as saying.
