As communities across the region observe Wesak Day, HRO wishes all readers peace, joy, and meaningful moments of reflection during this special occasion.
Dear Reader,
With Vesak Day being observed across Singapore and the region, Human Resources Online extends our warmest wishes to all readers celebrating this meaningful occasion.
Vesak Day or Wesak Day commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Gautama Buddha, and is observed by Buddhists around the world through acts of reflection, prayer, and compassion.
It reflects values such as compassion, mindfulness, and generosity. Many Buddhists mark the occasion by visiting temples early in the morning to take part in prayers and ceremonies. During these gatherings, the Buddhist flag is raised and hymns are sung.
Devotees also offer flowers, candles, and joss sticks as part of the observance. These offerings symbolise the impermanent nature of life. Many people spend the day doing good deeds, such as donating to charity, helping others, and taking part in community activities, as acts of kindness are believed to bring merit.
May this celebration bring peace, joy, and moments of reflection to you and your loved ones.
Wishing everyone a meaningful and blessed Vesak Day!
Much love,
The HRO team
