The Providore ceases operations at all six Singapore locations effective 9 March 2026

The company confirmed this in a post on Instagram, but the reason for the closure remains unclear.

The Providore, a home-grown Singapore cafe chain, deli and grocer in Singapore, has ceased operations at all six of its Singapore outlets — Downtown Gallery, Mandarin Gallery, Paya Lebar Quarter, Raffles Place, VivoCity, and Wisma Atria — with effect from Monday, 9 March 2026.

In an Instagram story, the brand said all outlets had closed with immediate effect, thanking customers for their “long‑term support and kindness”. The announcement did not disclose reasons for the shutdown.

In a media statement following the announcement, Toh Hwee Tin, Supervising Lead, Hospitality and Consumer Business (HCB) Cluster, National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) stated that although The Providore is a non-unionised company in Singapore, there are affected workers who are union members.

She shared that in cases such as this, where sudden business closures involve non‑unionised companies, NTUC will still extend assistance to affected union members to ensure they receive the necessary support.

"NTUC is currently reaching out to affected union members and will provide them with assistance and resources if and where required.

"These include connecting them to the Labour Movement’s network such as NTUC’s e2i (Employment and Employability Institute). Singaporeans/Permanent Residents (PRs) can tap on e2i’s job matching services, career coaching and skills upgrading advisory," the union added.
