Three Asian universities in the top 15 for the first time in World University Rankings 2027

Five Hong Kong universities made the global top 100, while National University of Singapore climbed into the top 15.

China’s Tsinghua University and Peking University, alongside the National University of Singapore (NUS), have secured places among the world’s top 15 universities in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027, marking the first time three Asian institutions have achieved the feat.

Tsinghua University overtook Switzerland’s ETH Zurich to climb to 11th place, followed by Peking University in 13th and NUS in 15th.

Hong Kong also performed strongly, with five universities making the global top 100.

The global top 10 remained dominated by universities from the US and UK, with the University of Oxford retaining the number one position for a record 11th consecutive year.
