The Malaysia-based HR leader will now oversee Sodexo's global talent, culture, learning, and succession agenda, building on more than 25 years of international HR leadership experience.
Sodexo has appointed Soorya Themudu as Senior Vice President, Global Talent & Development.
In her new role, Themudu will lead the company's global talent, culture, learning, and succession agenda, with a focus on accelerating the development of future-ready leaders, strengthening leadership capability, and fostering a high-performance, values-driven culture across the organisation.
A seasoned HR executive with more than 25 years of international experience, she has built her career across multiple industries and markets, leading large-scale transformation initiatives, developing leadership pipelines, and supporting organisational growth.
Prior to this appointment, she served as Senior Vice President Human Resources for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA), Brazil and Latin America at Sodexo. In that role, she oversaw the people strategy across 11 countries and a workforce of more than 90,000 employees.
According to Sodexo, Themudu played a key role in strengthening organisational capability, accelerating talent development, enhancing employee engagement, and supporting business transformation across the region.
Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Themudu said she was "truly honoured and excited" to begin her new role.
Reflecting on her journey, she expressed gratitude to the leaders and mentors who had supported her growth, while noting that leading HR across APMEA had been one of the most rewarding experiences of her career. She added that she looks forward to continuing to support and partner with the region in new ways as she takes on her global responsibilities.
Looking ahead, Themudu acknowledged that in a world where change is accelerating, talent, leadership, culture, and learning are increasingly becoming key differentiators of long-term performance and growth.
