Vietnam's public holidays for 2025

Public employees and workers will receive an additional five days of leave in 2025, bringing their total leave entitlement to 22 days.

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs (MOLISA) of Vietnam announced an extended public holiday schedule for 2025 on 3 December 2024, aiming to boost domestic tourism and consumption while providing much-needed rest for its workforce.

A key highlight is the nine-day Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday, spanning from 25 January to 2 February. This extended break is expected to significantly impact domestic travel, with millions of Vietnamese citizens returning to their hometowns to celebrate with family.

Other notable holidays in Vietnam will include the following:

  • Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (5 - 7 April): A three-day holiday.
  • Reunification Day and International Labor Day (30 April - 4 May): A five-day holiday period.
  • National Day (30 August - 2 September): A four-day holiday period.
