At the helm: Derek Heng and Peta Latimer take on additional portfolios at Marsh

Heng will now lead the ASEAN region, while Latimer's focus will be on Marsh's Singapore business.

Global professional services firm Marsh announced on Wednesday (30 September) the appointment of Derek Heng (pictured above, left) as CEO of Marsh ASEAN, effective 1 October 2026. Heng will continue to serve as CEO, Marsh Thailand, and report directly to David Jacob, CEO, Marsh Asia.

Effective immediately, Peta Latimer (pictured above, right) has also become CEO of Marsh Singapore, in addition to her current responsibilities as President of Marsh’s People and Investments business in Asia. She reports to Jacob.

Marsh shared that in their new roles, Heng and Latimer will focus on delivering Marsh’s services and solutions to clients across the region. In Marsh's context, the ASEAN region encompasses its operations in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Vietnam.

Both leaders will work closely with leaders across Asia to strengthen collaboration and bring together Marsh’s risk, strategy, and people & investments capabilities.

Commenting on his appointment, Heng called ASEAN "an exciting and diverse region", where Marsh's clients are increasingly looking for advice and solutions that reflect both their local priorities and regional ambitions.

"My priority will be to bring our teams and expertise even closer together, so clients can access the full breadth of Marsh’s capabilities wherever they operate."

Adding her views on her own appointment, Latimer said: "Singapore is a dynamic hub for business in the Asia region, and I look forward to working with our talented team to build on Marsh’s strong foundation, deepen our relationships with clients, and help organisations navigate the risks they now face so they can make decisions with greater confidence."

Jacob shared: "Both Derek and Peta’s deep understanding of the region, strong client focus, and proven leadership makes them ideally placed to bring the best of Marsh’s capabilities to clients."

Heng joined Marsh in 2015 and has held several leadership roles across Asia, including in Private Equity and M&A, relocating to Thailand in 2019 to serve as Chief Integration Officer for the Marsh-JLT integration. He was appointed CEO of Marsh Thailand in June 2022.

Meanwhile, Latimer joined Marsh in 2018 as CEO of its People and Investments business in Singapore, before becoming President of People and Investments for Asia in 2023.
