foodpanda Singapore celebrates SG60 with series of initiatives to recognise and uplift its delivery partners

“Singapore’s 60th birthday is a meaningful milestone to honour our delivery partners, who show up every day – rain or shine – to bring convenience and comfort to homes across the city. This year, we’re doing even more to say thank you,” said Bhavani Mishra, Managing Director, foodpanda Singapore.

SG60 has been on everyone's mind this year, with the rollout of SG60 vouchers and the enhancement of the Progressive Wage Credit Scheme to support businesses in alleviating cost pressures.

For foodpanda Singapore, it has marked Singapore's 60th birthday by launching a series of initiatives to recognise and uplift its delivery partners. These include:

  • S$16,200 in education bursaries,
  • Dollar-for-dollar tip matching, and
  • Expanded road safety training in the lead-up to Rider Safety Month.

These initiatives are part of a broader effort to recognise and give back to the often-overlooked delivery riders who keep Singapore moving. Through foodpanda's Riding Singapore Forward campaign, the riders are being celebrated for the vital role they play day-to-day and in the wider urban ecosystem.

“Singapore’s 60th birthday is a meaningful milestone to honour our delivery partners, who show up every day– rain or shine – to bring convenience and comfort to homes across the city. This year, we’re doing even more to say thank you,” said Bhavani Mishra, Managing Director, foodpanda Singapore.

Here is a breakdown of each of the initiatives that foodpanda Singapore will be focusing:

S$16,200 in education bursaries

A total of 60 education bursaries were rewarded to delivery partners and their family members, totalling S$16,200 in support. These bursaries will enable recipients to pursue their academic goals and reflect foodpanda’s long-term investment in delivery partners’ wellbeing. The company also recognised 31 outstanding delivery partners with awards for their exceptional service and contributions to the community.

Dollar-for-dollar tip matching

In addition to the accolades, foodpanda will be matching all in-app customer tips dollar-for-dollar from 8 to 10 August. Delivery partners collecting orders that include two Coca-Cola cans from selected Food Republic outlets islandwide will also receive a complimentary Coca-Cola can from 1 to 10 August.

Expanded road safety training

In the lead-up to Rider Safety Month in September, foodpanda also announced that it will expand its training programme with intermediate safety training courses, a step up from the basic training courses provided last year.

Tailored by vehicle type, these sessions will cover practical techniques, hazard management, and road confidence – aiming to equip partners with road skills and confidence to ride the streets of Singapore.
