KESUMA opens employment centre and HRD Corp office in Sabah to boost human capital

The one-stop employment centre houses 14 key agencies under one roof, aiming to improve access to employment and training support in the state.

Sabah marked a new milestone in human capital development on 4 August 2025 with the launch of the negeri Sabah KESUMA workforce one-stop centre and the new HRD Corp Office.

The launch was officiated by YB Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Human Resources, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to expand presence to public workforce services in Sabah.

According to KESUMA’s official Facebook post, the establishment of the centre reflects a new approach that combines services from 14 major departments and agencies under one roof. These include:

  • Department of Labour (JTK)
  • Department of Occupational Safety and Health (JKKP)
  • Corporate Court
  • Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp)
  • Social Security Organisation (PERKESO)

With all agencies located in one place, members of the public no longer need to visit separate locations to handle matters related to employment, skills training, workplace safety, or employee welfare. This is expected to save time, reduce costs, and make access to support services more convenient for residents.

The launch ceremony also included the opening of the new HRD Corp Sabah office. The office features facilities such as training rooms that will be made available to employers, local communities, and strategic partners. It is expected to serve as a hub for human capital development in the state, supporting the growth of a competent and competitive local workforce.
