Travellers need to apply online for an Electronic Travel Authorization before arriving in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka has granted visa-on-arrival access to holders of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) passports.
Under the arrangement, HKSAR passport holders who apply online for an Electronic Travel Authorization prior to visiting Sri Lanka may obtain an entry visa for a stay of up to 30 days upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport of Sri Lanka.
A spokesperson for Hong Kong's Immigration Department said the measure is expected to bring greater travel convenience to HKSAR passport holders and strengthen tourism, cultural, and economic ties between Sri Lanka and Hong Kong.
Including Sri Lanka, a total of 175 countries and territories now offer visa-free access or visa-on-arrival to HKSAR passport holders.
