Leading corporations and charitable foundations – including Li Ka Shing Foundation, Lee Shau Kee Foundation, DBS Hong Kong, Lenovo, Alibaba, and Tencent – have pledged substantial donations and resources to support relief and recovery efforts.

The catastrophic No. 5 alarm fire on 26 November 2025 at Tai Po’s Wang Fuk Court has claimed lives and caused extensive damage, leaving Hong Kong in mourning.

To offer immediate relief, the HKSAR Government will provide an emergency cash subsidy of HK$10,000 to each affected household. Meanwhile, the Government has established the ‘Support Fund for Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po’ with an initial capital of HK$300mn to assist affected residents and support all related recovery efforts. The Fund will accept donations from individuals and private organisations.

In addition, the Government is coordinating with the information technology sector to develop an online platform that will allow organisations and members of the public to register items they can donate. This will enable the Government to consolidate resources and distribute supplies to residents in need more effectively. The platform is expected to be launched in the coming days.

To address the short- and medium-term accommodation needs of affected residents, the Government has opened nine shelters currently housing over 500 people. The Home and Youth Affairs Bureau has also secured support from youth hostels and hotels, providing approximately 1,000 units for immediate stays of one to two weeks. The Government is also coordinating transitional housing and dedicated rehousing units through the Hong Kong Housing Society, with an estimated 1,800 units to be made available later to meet ongoing accommodation needs.

  • HK$150,000 to the family of each deceased person.
  • HK$100,000 to each seriously injured person.
  • HK$50,000 to each injured person in a stable condition.
